CaratLane Associate Product Manager Interview Experience

My Associate Product Manager ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐ž๐ฐ ๐„๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž at CaratLane - A TATA Product.



Iโ€™ve been getting a lot of DMs about my interview process at CaratLane,

so I thought of sharing it.

 

From the first HR call to the final culture-fit round,It was a 5-round journey that tested product sense,clarity of thought and structured thinking.

It was to see if I was a good fit for the role.The HR mostly wanted to understand:


1. My past internship experiences


2. Why I wanted to join CaratLane


3. My expectations around compensation

This round was purely about product thinking and observation -how I approach problems.

 

1. How would you increase Amazon Prime subscriptions? What metrics would you track?

2. Youโ€™re a PM at MakeMyTrip and need to shift customers from Train to Bus -bookings-what would your approach be? They werenโ€™t looking for the exact number,but how structured and rational my thought process was.

The most intense and exciting round.

 

1. Youโ€™re a PM at Big Basket/Blinkit and the business wants to increase AOV, how would you approach it, thought to execution?

2. Youโ€™re a PM at an omnichannel jewellery brand and one random day the revenue doubles -no occasion,no campaign,no offer changes. Find the root cause?

3. Estimate the number of Uber drivers needed if Uber launches in Bengaluru

4. Explain Credโ€™s business model to a 5-year-old

5. What are your top 3 strengths and weaknesses?

 

This round tested how I think under pressure, how I structure my ideas and how I connect user needs to business goals.
